Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs) for Bigger Systems
If you have larger facilities and want commercial solar installations that exceed 100 kW capacity, your eligibility shifts from the SRES to the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target or LRET scheme. Here, LGCs, unlike STCs, are granted based on actual electricity generated. It means to produce a revenue stream that businesses can sell or trade on the open market.
What Are LGCs?
Large-scale generation certificates, or LGCs, are tradable certificates created under Australia’s Renewable Energy Target scheme. They incentivize the production of renewable energy from large-scale power stations, including commercial solar farms and businesses. Each LGC issued represents one megawatt-hour or MWh of eligible renewable electricity generated by these accredited renewable power stations such as wind farms, solar farms, hydroelectric, or large commercial solar systems.
